Pedro Fernandez Jr. is running for City Representative for District 6, which represents a majority of the ZIP Code 79936 and additional areas. The borders of the district are mostly made up by George Dieter Dr, Montana Avenue, Loop 375, and I-10. More on the District can be found below this section.
Pedro Fernandez Jr. is the son of two U.S. Army veterans, Brenda and Pedro Sr.†, born in Fort Carson, CO. He and his parents moved to El Paso, TX in 2004, welcoming his younger sister to the family later that year, and since then has called El Paso and District 6 home. He is a graduate from Americas High School (Class of 2018) and graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science (Class of 2021). He currently lives in El Paso with his grandparents, mother, sister, and the family's Bassett Hound, "the Prince of Barkness," Ozzy.
Instilled in him is a drive to give back to the City that raised him. Pedro has previously been an election worker, campaign staffer, and most recently worked in Washington, D.C. for a non-partisan non-profit dedicated to educating federal policymakers, congressional staff, and stakeholders, on Western and Rural issues. Utilizing these experiences, Pedro seeks to devote himself to this job to serve the residents of District 6 on City Council, making the office more accessible and informative.
District 6
El Paso's District 6 sits on the Far East side of town, mostly bordered by George Dieter Dr, Montana Avenue, Loop 375, and I-10. Some parts of the district sit west of George Dieter, such as a small portion of the East Glen area (Precinct 106), east of 375 such as Paseos del Sol (Precinct 131), and on the corner of I-10 and Loop 375 such as Southview and Las Placitas del Rey (Precincts 191 and 190, respectively).

Currently, El Paso's road infrastructure is on a pay-as-you-go system, which is unlike other desert cities that have dedicated funding for roads.

Public Safety
